MYRRH / (PURE ORIGIN) / Commiphora myrrha / Myrrh, Commiphora myrrha
Myrrh essential oil possesses warm, bitter, dry, woody, amber, vanilla, resinous, and mushroomy notes—myrrh will never leave you indifferent. The scent seems very complex, indeed elusive, due to its ambivalence and duality: bitter, sharp, pungent, irritating, leathery, metallic, yet also sweet and soft; soft, licorice-like, vanilla-like; hot, dry, pungent, desert-like, spicy, sulfurous; yet also cool or fresh, imbued with humic and mushroomy notes. This scent often seems smoky, resinous, woody, and mineral.
