Angelica archangelica, Angelica root In Europe, it is known as "Angel's Herb," Angelica, or, as it is more commonly known in our country, Angelica. It is a biennial or perennial herbaceous plant up to 1.5–2.5 m tall. Angelica blooms once every 2–3 years, produces seeds, and usually dies. It is the tallest of the essential oil-producing members of the Celery family. Essential oil is obtained from both the roots and rhizomes, as well as the seeds. The yield of essential oil from underground parts averages approximately 0.1–0.3%. We offer Angelica root oil. The oil's effects on the body: a powerful antispasmodic (migraine, menstrual cramps), has a strong antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and local irritant effect. The oil has antimicrobial activity (Clostridium difficile, Clostridium Perfringens, Enterococcus faecalis, Eubacterium limosum, Peptostreptococcus anaerobius, and Candida albicans). The oil is known for its anticonvulsant effect. It has a strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect (used for arthritis, gout, and rheumatism). It has a mild expectorant and mucolytic effect (cough, bronchitis, runny nose, asthma). It has a positive effect on the immune system. The oil promotes detoxification, improves the functioning of the lymphatic system, and reduces swelling. It stimulates blood circulation, especially in the lower extremities. The oil's effect on the emotional level: it has a mild sedative effect, is an aphrodisiac, increases vitality (asthenia), reduces stress, gives strength, eliminates fear, anxiety, depression, balances, acts as an antidepressant (including in winter due to the short daylight hours), gives self-confidence, and is excellent for fatigue and stress-related illnesses. In perfumery: Top and base notes. Root oil (which is the one offered to you) has a higher (compared to oil obtained from the seeds) content of phthalides, which are responsible for the musky, animalic notes of the oil. Because of this, essential oil from the roots and rhizomes, with its musky and ambery notes, is used in perfumery. Blends well with orange, basil, bergamot, vetiver, geranium, grapefruit, cajeput, cedar, lavender, lavandin, cistus, lemon, marjoram, mandarin, myrtle, juniper, neroli, rosemary, patchouli, rose, chamomile, pine, fennel, clary sage, eucalyptus. Important: The scent is intense; do not exceed the recommended dose; high concentrations may cause insomnia. It is phototoxic, so do not use during the day or at least 12 hours before sun exposure.
